Use the brush with hardness set to 0%. The layer needs to be unlocked. (can’t do without layers!). Open a layer mask. Get up close and personal to the wings of the butterfly with zoom. Outline the contours. For longer areas hold the shift key. If tiny details need to be added use a smaller brush. When the task is done hold ‘Option’. Now simultaneously click the layer mask. Choose the mask and not the layer. If you have done correctly only a B & sketch will be visible. Now with the help of the Magic Wand use Contiguous. Take care to anti-alias it. Click the outside area (i.e the unwanted portion). Add other parts, which are not in the selection. Select, modify and expand. Time to change the background color now. Delete key should be pressed. If there are very tiny areas in the nook and crook, they can be filled with the 5px brush. Now you have your cut out photo.
